Hall's ranks to swell by 17 after special Negro League election



MLB.com | Seventeen Negro League and pre-Negro League players and executives will join Bruce Sutter on July 30 as inductees to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Each of the 17 received at least 75 percent of the vote in an election by a committee of 12 historians. Among the names is former Newark Eagles owner Effa Manley, who will become the first woman inducted in Cooperstown.
